The Guartel WireTect is a handheld diagnostic tool and is used as a secondary diagnostic tool following a positive confirmation by the primary detector or where Ground Sign Awareness (GSA) would indicate the need for confirmation by this secondary detector. The detector is designed for use by High Threat IEDD Operators, Advanced Search Teams and other specialist users.

The WireTect has been tested with portable ECM equipment, the unit will alert the user with an error condition indication if interference is present.

The WireTect is a dynamic detector with indicated detection strength, the WireTect has selectable controls ground compensation and sensitivity, the WireTect is powered by 2 x AA batteries.

The WireTect performs in all soil, detection capabilities are heightened in high loss soils or soils with high moisture content.

DETECTION CAPABILITIES

Long Wires:

• Detects long wires down to less than 0.5 m from the ends
• Buried or surface laid
• Detection depth depends on multiple factors but 20 cm – 30 cm typical

Short Wires:

• Buried or surface laid
• Performance will be variable depending on many environmental factors
• <0.5 m possible dependent on environment and wire type
